HELLOVENUS (헬로비너스) was a South Korean girl group created by the combined efforts of Pledis Entertainment and Fantagio, a joint venture under the alias "Tricell Media". They debut on May 9, 2012, with their mini album "Venus".
In 2014, a joint venture between the companies was terminated, the group went through a lineup change and continued promoting under Fantagio. The group disbanded on May 8, 2019.
Etymology[]
Hello Venus (occasionally stylized helLOVEnus) was derived from the Roman goddess of love and beauty, Venus, which originally, their name was intended to be. However, in a final storm of ideas, the 'Hello' was thought up to present the group's name with a much warmer or kinder disposition. Thus, "Hello Venus" was devised.
